Sticky Impermanence

This work was included in a group show curated by Regine Basha titled “An exchange with Sol LeWitt” at MASS MoCA (2011), scheduled to accompany the Sol LeWitt retrospective in the same venue.

In the spirit of Sol LeWitt’s generosity, the instructions pad was available for viewers to take freely. Each 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper has two identical instruction sets; as viewers take one themselves and cut one out to give to friends or xerox, imagined acts of gifting are multiplied, contributing to the largesse of the gift economy movement.
